Living Accommodation Single/Married Unaccompanied Personnel There is no suitable long term accommodation available within NOCG. Personnel are therefore accommodated in civilian hirings around the Bad Hindelang area, designated as misappropriated quarters. You will continue to pay the required Food and Single Accommodation charge (linked to the grade of flat you occupy). However you will receive a higher rate of LOA called LOSLA (Living Out Supplemented Rate of Local Overseas Allowance). LOSLA is designed to compensate you for the cost of providing your meals whether taken in commercial sources or self prepared. In addition you may claim Domestic Assistance for up to 3 hrs per week for employing a cleaner up to a set limit set to your LOSLA rate. More details are available from the Overseas Support Desk at HMS Nelson. Married Accompanied Personnel There are no Military Married Quarters in the Allgau area. You will be housed in a civilian hiring commensurate with your Married Quarter entitlement for which you will pay the normal appropriate charges. You will also pay a Fuel and Light charge which is adjusted annually dependent on your actual consumption. Application for a Married Quarter On receipt of your assignment order you are required to fill out an Application to Occupy Service Family Accommodation Form (MOD Form 1132). On completion it must be sent to SSF Ramstein, UKSU, BFPO 109. Your move is undertaken and administered by RAF Ramstein which is approx 4 hrs drive from Bad Hindelang. It is imperative that your booking dates are correct and you notify the office of any changes. There are many lifestyle rules and regulations in Germany and some relate to the occupation of dwellings (which may seem draconian) but are designed to make sure neighbours live in harmony. Permission is required before erecting a satelite or bringing pets. In addition you will need to ensure that you comply with local laws regarding quiet hours during the day (1300 - 1500 hrs) and after 2200 hrs. The hanging of washing is restricted at weekends aswell as the use of lawnmowers. Vehicles may only be washed at the car wash and not in driveways/garages. Household recycling is used extensively in Germany and non-compliance can result in fines. All bottles/glass, cans, plastic packaging, paper and bio-degradable items are recycled and must be placed in the correctly labelled bin and or taken to the nearest recycle centre. |
