Travel

All individuals and groups are booked on the Sat evening 1900hr sailing from Dover to Calais each week as foot passengers. Participants will transit from units/ships/establishments to Dover, P&O Ferry Passenger Terminal. Co-ordination of the move to the Ferry Terminal is the responsibility of individual or participating units. RN ships should seek assistance from their PT Staff, WMO POPT or Area AT POPT's. Units are encouraged to co-ordinate their travel requirements with those travelling from the same area, travel costs are chargeable to local unit budgets (see BR 4024).

Individuals and groups are to be at the P&O Ferry Passenger Terminal desk at least 1 hour prior to the departure (1800hrs), there they will register with the nominated group OIC who will issue tickets. Late arrivals, which miss the ferry, will be responsible for making their own way to Bavaria at their own cost. Failure to attend will result in investigation and possible disciplinary action.

Arrival time in Calais is 2145hrs local; groups are then to proceed to the Coach Terminal were they will board a KOMM MIT, 54 seat, German Coach. A nominated group OIC will be responsible for the conduct of transiting personnel (see Annex D), Alcohol consumption on the coach is strictly forbidden . The coach journey is an overnight transit to Bavaria (approx 13 hours). Individuals are encouraged to bring their own in coach entertainment, there will be scheduled stops with a breakfast stop at approximately 0700hrs. ETA at Haus Schwaben will be 1130hrs and a light lunch will be provided upon arrival.

Be aware that timings will change and that groups should check with the NOCG Staff prior to travelling to confirm timings.
